A traveler without observation is a bird without wings. – Moslih Eddin Saadi

Today is spent lazily lounging around the island getting to know Tim and Char better as the three of us plan our escape West to San Ignacio, Belize. After we begin discussing this idea with Eva and David they agree to join us even though they have doubts of stopping in the small sleepy town that sits just 16km from the Guatemalan border.
I failed to mention that Eva and I had began corresponding through the travel companion section on the website www.helpx.net. Originally, we had plans to meet in Caye Caulker and share a room to save on costs, but at the last minute her friend David joined her and I was unsure we could find a room that would accommodate three people. Eva has the classic girl next-door look, shoulder length blonde hair with brown eyes, an enticing smile makes you feel welcome, and a strong head on her shoulders, as her ambitious thirst for travel has her planning to spend the next year traveling the globe solo as well. Beginning her route in the Czech Republic before heading to Florida and then on to Mexico before we were united in Belize, she is a young woman that is full of maturity in her veteran status of world travel experiences, and her ability find laughter in almost every circumstance attracts me to her. David became the gentle giant of our small band, his personality is one that is very quiet and shy due to his lack of English comprehension, but did very well when hard pressed and had a smile that told more than words ever could.
