A day without laughter is a day wasted. – Charlie Chaplin

These uneventful days are beginning to wear on me, and, like any addict, I am growing restless in my withdrawal symptoms of the road. I miss the weight of my pack, the comradery of hostels, exploring new places, and of course, sarcastically mocking new people–I mean what is the point of travel if not to make new friends in the process as you congratulate them for listening to Kenny G while wearing a Notorious B.I.G. t-shirt as they cling tightly to a prized neon green fanny pack while pulling out their velcro wallet that has 2Legit2Quit embroidered unevenly down the side. I tell you, I don’t want to live in a world that doesn’t stand and applaude these individuals. Shameful, I know. I really should have brought my velcro walltet to be accepted and embraced as a local.
Despite the loss of guests and new reservations I have yet to lose my vigor for finding humor in absolutely everything, but continue to use this welcomed opportunity to catch up on documenting my experiences in my pursuit of the artistic balance of adventure and, that of a novice writer. I still wonder exactly how many people continue to read my blogs joining me in my great journey thus far. It would be helpful to receive comments or virtual hugs so I know that I have an audience and that I am appreciated more than Joseph Gayetty. Who? Exactly.
