We never know how high we are till we are called to rise; and then, if we are true to plan, our statures touch the skies-The heroism we recite would be a daily thing, did not ourselves the cubits warp for fear to be a King. — Emily Dickinson

The first of many, quiet, uneventful days, and I cannot help but feel a brief sense of accomplishment in the lack of responsibilities that currently exist in my life. I continue to meet other travelers that share in the same passion to experience this wonderful world we live in–together. In spite of differences that attempt to separate us, the commonality of seeking to live with a purpose through achieving goals, is still a dream that is lived out the world over.
Today, I have the pleasure of meeting an African born American immigrant, Abe, from Chicago, IL and his travel amigo, Frank, a Guatemalan-Kiwi that currently lives Adelaide, Australia. Yes, the combinations can be mind-boggling and extremely humorous as people explain their origins. I still get plenty of questions and looks being a Korean born American adoptee that has relatively clear diction in some of my Spanish pronunciation. I have learned to embrace the idea that I am somewhat of an enigma in my new environment and welcome it with all of the sarcastic comments I am known to spout.

The extremity of my plan is shattered upon meeting two Canadians, Mike and Karen, who are bicycling round the world beginning from their home in Calgary, Alberta with plans to reach Patagonia before seeking to conquer another continent. And you thought I was ambitious?
The lifestyles we lead is a choice that we make each and every day, and if there is unhappiness on the path that you are currently traveling yourself, than by all means, begin making efforts to break out of the mold and pursue it with vigor and enthusiasm.
