Be thankful for what you have; you'll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don't have, you will never, ever have enough. – Oprah Winfrey

Since I'm currently running and operating two businesses in Seoul, unfortunately I had to work on the actual Thursday of American Thanksgiving, but as a global traveler I've often forgotten about some holidays and have learned to celebrate them in different fashions. Last year for Thanksgiving I spent it with three American friends at The Bistro, a more upscale restaurant that cost us roughly $45 for an American Thanksgiving dinner. This year, however, I have decided to attend Thanksgiving dinner at a banquet at the church I attend in Seoul. There was a much smaller cost of about $10 per person and they encouraged everyone to dress in a more semi-formal fashion, which I wasn't in complete agreement with, but it was nice to throw on my custom-tailored suit from Vietnam for an evening I suppose.
The meal was complete with all the trimmings, however, the only complaint from several people was that everything was quite cold as all of the side dishes were sitting on the tables and the meats–turkey and ham–were brought out after everyone had taken their seats and an introduction greeting was given. There was also a talent show that began shortly after the meal and dessert was served during the intermission of the talent show, and unfortunately this was when I had to duck out as I was just too exhausted from a busy work day that began for me at 5am. It's quite interesting that before I really despised waking up so early, but as a continued entrepreneur I rarely set an alarm and even when I do I find myself waking up early because I like to begin my morning in the guest house as everyone else is sleeping and I can not only get a lot done, but my motivation level is extremely high. I suppose the best way I can describe this is that working for yourself you tend to be more self-driven and ambitious. It's a great feeling, and I am thankful for all of the blessings in my life, my wonderful family, and the incredible friendships I have both back in the States and scattered throughout the world!
